The City Clerk Division is responsible for the preparation of agendas
and minutes for City Council, Local Licensing Authority and Board of
Equalization meetings. The Clerk's office issues liquor licenses and
various other city licenses including solicitors' and trash hauling.
Other services provided by the Clerk's office include maintenance of
the Municipal Code, recruitment for Boards and Commissions
positions, assistance to the Elections division. maintenance of
Broomfield's official records and responding to public
records requests.
Board of Equalization
The City Clerk's staff provides administrative assistance to the
Board of Equalization (BOE), including packet preparation,
attendance at meetings, and production of minutes. The City Clerk's
Division provides scheduling assistance in the real and personal
property appeal and abatement process for petitions submitted by
taxpayers.
Boards and Commissions
Broomfield has 17 Boards and Commissions, for which the Clerk's
office is the primary contact during the
annual recruitment process.

Council Meetings and Minutes The City
Clerk's staff prepares
Council packets
for distribution, attends meetings, and produces minutes for the
regular meetings.
Elections
The City Clerk staff assists the
Elections Division during the
Primary, Municipal, and General Elections and responds to questions
from residents who have called the Election Line at 303‑464‑5857.
Liquor Licensing
The City Clerk's staff provides administrative support to the
Local Licensing Authority (LLA).
The LLA approves or rejects liquor license applications. All liquor
license applications are first reviewed by the City Clerk's office.

The City Clerk staff maintains the
Broomfield Municipal Code and
coordinates updates to the Code.
Records Management and Public Records Requests The City Clerk staff maintains the
official records for the City and County of Broomfield and is
responsible for providing certain public records upon request from citizens
by e-mail, phone, or in person. Requests for large numbers of
documents are processed through the City and County Attorney's
office, and they can be reached by phone at 303-438-5353 or e-mail
at
scarpenter@broomfield.org. Fees for copies are $.10 for each
black and white page and $.60 for each color page. Departments may
charge $20 per hour for time spent responding to large requests that
require the searching of voluminous files for specific information,
manipulating data, or redacting documents to excise confidential
information.
